June 2, 2014 - Seneca saw a chemistry kit at Michael's, so we bought it. We did the first few lessons in the kit on the 3 stages of matter. Seneca also played at the park and told me about how bees pollinate flowers - something she learned on Wild Kratts. She read some of the lesson instructions i the Chemistry book and learned to read the word chemistry. That sparked a conversation about how sometimes - but not often - ch can make a "k" sound.
June 5, 2014 - Seneca copied a math problem she saw on a tv movie. I made fraction strips to show her that 4/6 =2/3. We went to books-a-million and sat outside doing math practice including 5+3 = 4+4. I gave her some similar problems and she did well. I gave her 6+3 and she came up with 3+3+3. Seneca also chose out a 48 piece puzzle. Seneca came across her new writing notebook and practiced the printed letter A,a. A new book arrived and she asked me to read the first half of it to her. It was a biography of Augusta Savage. Co-op Day: Found and held a frog, swimming in the pond, sprinkler play, time with her friends, and washing Daisy the horse. Wild Kratts: Flight of the Draco (lizard)
