She read one page of a Peter Pan book.  It was only one page, but there were a lot of difficult words such as pirate and captain. However, she did well at sounding them out and figuring them out.  At this point with difficult pages, she does fairly well at sounding out the words, but she doesn't comprehend the story. It isn't fluid yet.  If it is a story that I read to her, she comprehends very well and does well with her narrations.  She does better understanding and remembering stories that she reads when the reading level is something that she is more comfortable with.  Science:  Without being asked, Seneca's thirteen year old brother decided to give her a lesson on floating vs sinking.  They filled up the sink with water and gathered objects and noted which ones sank and which ones floated.  Seneca already had an idea about floating and sinking and she did well at predicting which objects would float or sink.  Her brother also showed her how an empty bottle would float, but fill it up water and it will sink.
